STEPPING INTO FOREVER – 1 Corinthians 15:50-52

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.

BIG IDEA

Imagine a moment when every negative problem connected to having a human body is eliminated and you are given your absolute best version of yourself – God’s version.   In that moment you say “hello” to forever and, after that, say “thank you” to Jesus in person.  This personal moment in your future is the one Jesus chose death by crucifixion to secure for you  and rose bodily in history for you to experience.

MY EASTER TAKE AWAY

But this moment of ultimate transformation is the final chapter of a story that is being worked out right now.  Transformation by God’s Spirit starts the moment I believe, continues daily after I believe and culminates in the moment I rise in Christ and step into forever.  The hope of this future moment is purposed to create a strong discipline and desire to transform as much as possible right now.
