Middle School FootGolf

Posted by sarah on February 28, 2017

Middle Schoolers of Crux!!!!!  Get excited for an amazing, middle school only event doing something most of you have never done! FOOTGOLF. What is this amazing activity you ask? FootGolf is an incredibly fun new sport that combines soccer and golf out on the golf course. Instead of a golf ball, you use a standard soccer ball. Instead of clubs, you kick it! The object is to get the ball into the 21-inch diameter hole in the lowest number of kicks. FootGolf is great for groups, easy to learn, and fun to play. You do not have to be a soccer pro, in fact no one really looks like one once they start to play haha! New to FootGolf? Read the First-Timer's Guide to FootGolf by clicking here. The Lake Forest FootGolf Course is a 9-hole layout that can be played as a solely 9-hole round.  Soccer balls are available to rent at…

High School Haiti Spring Break Mission Trip 2017

Posted by Grant Gunther on November 29, 2016

Parents and High Schoolers of Crux we are excited to announce that we are going to Haiti during Spring Break 2017!!! That's right, it is official, etch it in stone, the High Schoolers of Crux will be heading ON MISSION to Haiti from March 31st - April 7th in partnership with the Global Mission (a Crossline Church ministry partner!) and the Chanje movement. This trip provides an incredible opportunity for students to get a taste for bringing the message AND service of Christ to a country that we have a huge heart for. On this trip students will be spending time with orphans at several orphanages that the Chanje movement sponsors, working with Haitian students, serving meals to different villages, doing work projects, sharing the Gospel and caring for the least of these in Haiti. Students who have attended this trip in the past have come back with changed perspectives and lives when it comes to themselves and others, because…

CruxGroups 2016/2017 Sign Ups!

Posted by Grant Gunther on August 7, 2016

Sign Ups for the 2016-2017 CruxGroups season are live! The deets: From September 21st-December 14th & January 11th-May 17th we will be meeting WEDNESDAY NIGHTS from 6:30-8pm to study God's word, have a time of worship through music, have fellowship, and have some fun. We will meet at Crossline Community Church (23331 Moulton Parkway Laguna Hills, CA 92653) in the Fellowship Center. What are CruxGroups?: CruxGroups offer an incredible opportunity for students to connect on a greater level with Crux. One of the biggest hurdles in church can be getting to know people, and CruxGroups are designed so that students can get to know and be known by other students in our ministry. By placing students into groups with other students who are their same grade and gender our hope is that they will get plugged into our student ministry here at Crossline. Each group will also have an awesome ADULT leader…

Hume Blog #2

Posted by Grant Gunther on August 3, 2016

Hey Parents! Can you believe that we are at the halfway mark for Hume?! It has been a crazy awesome week so far, and our students are definitely loving it! Our students have been killing it in recreation from winning in Kajabe, to winning in the Fab Four games, and our very own Josh Lawless taking home the gold in the belly flop contest. Today our middle schoolers are all dressed up in their finest Old McDonald clothing and racing away for glory, and tonight high school has the ever epic finals for Kajabe. God has also been moving in the lives of the students through our daily chapels. Praise Jesus that last night several of our students made first time decisions to follow Jesus! Our students have definitely been challenged to be all in when it comes to following God and it is so incredible to see our students…

Hume Blog #1

Posted by Grant Gunther on August 1, 2016

Hey Parents! We are moving through day 1 here at camp, and it has already been a pretty incredible time. As always Hume did a fantastic job with their opening skit communicating the theme, Bingo. From people flying around inside the chapel, to a talking dog, and a scary looking crow, the opener was off the chain. This year we are looking at the life of Elijah (1 Kings 17) and how he chose to follow God in a culture that wasn’t. Already our students are being challenged with the simple question of who they are choosing to follow. We are super excited to see how the students are going to respond to this question, and are prayerful that they will choose to follow God even if nobody else will. Right now recreation is about to kickoff pitting the “E’s” against the “I’s” (E-I-E-I-Ooooo), and our students are definitely pumped…
