Crux Hume Lake 2020

Hi Hume parents,

Please take a few minutes to watch an important video message from Sarah and Grant in response to Hume Lake’s decision regarding camp this summer.

We are saddened to announce that Hume Lake has made the difficult decision to cancel camp for this summer. The health and safety of all campers has always been a top priority for Hume, and in an effort to honor all state and local guidelines and recommendations, Hume Lake made has decided that they can not effectively and safely move forward with camp this summer.

We know this decision brings disappointment. As a team, we are saddened as well. In such a difficult season where it feels like much of life has been canceled, we want you to know that Crux desires to be a place where we can come alongside you in the midst of the disappointment.

While we don’t want to minimize or skip over theses feelings, we do want you to be encouraged in the fact that Crux still has an amazing summer planned. As Grant and Sarah mentioned in their video, Hume Lake is not the only way we connect with God and each other during the summer. We have an entire summer schedule that you will be able to find on our website by the end of this week. Additionally, while we cannot replace Hume, we still want to capitalize on the available week we now have. I encourage you to not fill the week of July 26-Aug 1 with other things, but keep it open knowing that Crux is planning something special for that week (more details on this to come.)

We are sure that you have many questions in light of this decision – most likely regarding refunds. At this time, we do not have all the answers in regards to when we will be able to issue refunds, but know that you will be receiving a full refund for the amount that you have paid to date. Please give us grace and patience as we work with Hume to finalize these details.

Finally, I am still comforted by the words of Dathan in his previous video announcement, “No matter what happens this summer, we will continue to point people to Jesus Christ and do the best we can to give God the glory. We can trust God because He is trustworthy.” Even in light of this decision, these words are still true.

We are praying with you and for you.

The Crux Team
