To inspire a contagious culture of LOVE and SERVICE - for God and for each other. A culture where Care and compassion is lived out in practical ways as a result of our love for God (Luke 10:27).
God calls us to use the gifts He’s given us to build up His church. The goal is to grow in our faith and be united in mission (Eph 4:11-16). Ultimately we’re to “GO” and make disciples. CARE begins serving those within our own church body (Gal 6:10) and the community at large. Connecting through a community / small group is essential. It’s where CARE begins. It establishes connection and offers a sense of belonging. It’s where each person uses their gifts to serve one another (1 Peter 4:10). Being connected in a group safeguards against loneliness and isolation - it’s what community is all about - it’s about BELONGING.
We were created to love - love God and love people. CARE is rooted in love (Luke 10:27) and lived out in service. Our lives are about serving, giving of our time, talent or treasure as Jesus did (Matt 20:28). We’re entrusted to accomplish the work God prepared in advance for us to do (Eph 2:10). Regardless of our work and activities, we are the hands, the feet, and the voice of Christ himself. Our part is to serve those in need for the furthering of the gospel. CARE at Crossline focuses on doing just that!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind; and love your neighbor (Luke 10:27)
Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:18)
Love one another (John 15:12)
Serve one another tangibly (Acts 4:32-35)
Lighten one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2)
Listen to identify needs (Romans 15:1-2 MSG)
Extend compassion to those whose faith is weak (Romans 14:1)
Spur one another toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24)
Encourage one another and build each other up (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
CARE offers support and opportunities to serve within each area below:
Small groups are the primary means for CARE at Crossline. We were created to live in community and not alone. Small groups meet throughout the week. They are a source for connection, fellowship, spiritual growth, and discipleship. It’s a place where the gospel comes to life and becomes part of the fabric of who we are. We study Scripture, pray, encourage, and serve one another (Galatians 6:10). A CARE Leader within the group listens for and identifies opportunities to serve. They rally the group into action and coordinate support when needed. It can be a simple act of kindness - personal call, prayer, a meal, transportation, etc. Get plugged-in - join a Women’s, Men’s or neighborhood Community group today!
On-Call CARE Leader responds to calls for help from individuals who are not currently involved in a small group. Our pastoral staff and on-call CARE Leaders provide personalized care, compassion, and encouragement to people going through a challenging season, struggle or crisis. They pray for and shepherd those who are hurting and guide them to resource options as needed. Some may need a limited time of one-on-one personalized support and discipleship. Care Leaders are trained for this specific support service; they are a blessing and source of hope for those going through difficult seasons.
Outreach CARE Leader leads and coordinates service projects that benefit the body of Crossline as well as the community at large in tangible ways. They are intentional about serving, and seek out ways to serve those in need. They are gifted in leadership and administration. They inspire a contagious passion for serving and seek to move people from having an interest to actively serving.
