30 Day Easter Devotional – Day 16

I Corinthians 5:17-20 (NIV)

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

The Big Idea:

We are reminded here that life in Christ means not just a heart that is set right, but a heart that is new completely! God, in His great mercy, has reconciled sinners to Himself through Jesus Christ.

Personal Take Away

What a privilege that is offered to all of mankind! Though separated from us by the fall of man, God provided the perfect way for sinners to lay aside their sin and accept the salvation He offers. Why? So that we might be made the righteousness of God through Jesus!

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us – with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:7-8

Have you thought about the position you have in Jesus Christ? Could we labor or suffer too much for the One who gave His beloved Son and allowed us to become His righteousness? Go and be Christ’s ambassadors!
